White Waltham Airfield, Berkshire.
A deserted aircraft hanger.
With a leisurely start time of 10am, I was the last SA to be called to base. On arrival, a Marie Celeste of a Crowd Holding presented itself. Everyone else - the crack of dawn crowd - must have been called to set. This place seemed huge, had plenty of tables and benches, but no Lears [planes or kings].
Found a seat, started sketching. Slowly, SAs and ADs drifted back in.
"Ooooh, you sketching?"
"Errr, are you that bloke BackToHolding?"
A small group gathered. Two ADs flipped through my sketch book, making occasional "I was on that one!" whoops. Joy.
